Stina has an unbridled curiosity and loves both colour and form. Her playful style is a reflection of her personality which made us at Perswall very curious about her. It all resulted in a completely own, fantastic wallpaper where Stina together with our designer got an outlet for her vision and creativity that you now can find in Perswall's range.
Stina, what’s your story? Tell us a bit about yourself.
Of course! I’m an entrepreneur and co-founder of the skin care and wellness brand MANTLE, which focuses on the exciting ingredient CBD. With a master's degree from Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) I have a background in brand strategy and today I live on Södermalm in Stockholm.
At a very young age, you have already started several companies and are now a co-founder of MANTLE. Where does all the energy and drive come from?
I have an unbridled curiosity and like to make new things happen. At SSE, I quickly noticed that a bank job or a large company role probably wouldn’t suit me. Being where the real action happens is the absolute most fun, especially if you can do it with other people who share the same visions and values.
Checking your Instagram it’s easy to say that colour is a consistent theme. What are your top tips for daring colour?
Yes, I love colour! Maybe you should ask yourself why you don’t dare? Is it because it's not trendy? Or that you are afraid of making mistakes? That you will eventually get tired of it? Also, think about what would make YOU feel good. Colours really affect our mood and what’s fun with colour, e.g. on wallpaper, is that it is not so difficult to change if you would get tired of it.
Where do you get your inspiration from when it comes to colour and form?
From everywhere! A lot of it comes from art and my lovely friends but also cerative people who I follow on Instagram. I’m very spontaneous when it comes to home décor and I’m influenced by a variety of styles: one day I want to be Gustaf Westman and the other Elsa Billgren, haha.
Stinas way of describing her style as lustful, spontaneous and imperfect is something that comes through in the vision and on the sketch tableresulting in this playful wallpaper with hand drawn lines in organic shapes.
How would you describe your style?
Lustful, spontaneous and imperfect.
Would you say that your style reflects your personality?
Absolutely! I think it's very strange with homes that don’t reflect people's personality. It’s as if it becomes a nice showroom that is very pleasant to look at but which you may not want to live in. My own style mixes really high and low - it contains fine objects, but it is not so arranged. As an entrepreneur, I usually have a full calendar so there is always a half-finished project in my home, such as a ceiling lamp on the floor.
What items in your home would you not want to be without?
My green, slightly wobbly percussion table that I bought at Bukowskis, it reminds me of a table I had at home when I was little. And my giant paintings by Lisa Larsson and Slowdown Studios!
Tell us about a talent or an interest that few people know about!
I love yoga and meditation and have been a trained yoga instructor for six years. I'm also really good at music quizzes and absolutely love musicals.
