Anna & Jasmina
Anna Kubel and Jasmina Bylund have known each other since before they could walk and together, they make up a fierce duo with a passion for interior. Both work as photographers, have a passion for old cabinets and believe that the key to a personal home is to fill it with things you love. Together they have styled Perswall’s wallpaper Blossom according to them.
Anna and Jasmina, what’s your story? Tell us a bit about yourselves.
Our parents know each other and have so since we were just babies, we have actually known each other our whole lives! We think alike and in that sence are almost like clones, naturally we work extremely good together and have created a super team.
We both have incredibly creative professions as we work as photographers and content creators for social media and have done so for the past five years – and we love our job! Hence, it rarely feels like we work.
What’s the key to creating a personal home?
Don’t rush things! A home is not created in one day, so let it take time. We believe in going with your own instinct and feeling and not to look too much at what others do or what is trendy right now. If you fill your home with things you love, it simply just cannot go wrong.
What interior trends do you see in 2022?
Light and bright is back, but also colours that are pure and pastel like. We believe we are moving away from murky wallpapers and “dirty” colours. Instead, we will decorate with our heart and above all look to what is sustainable and comfortable. Bring in a nice couch and we’re on our way!
“In 2022 we will decorate with our heart and above all look to what is sustainable and comfortable.”
How should we resonate if we are passionate about decorating and new trends, but also want to make sustainable choices?
It has never been trendier with flea markets and auctions, it doesn’t get more sustainable than that? There are so many beautiful objects to be found on the secondhand market, so our tip is to always go there first in your search for new items.
What are your thoughts on sustainability and the environment?
You don’t need to do everything, but everyone can do something. To shop sustainably requires some reflection. We always try to choose timeless materials and make sure its eco-labelled and locally produced as much as possible.
Anna and Jasmina found a wallpaper from Perswall’s range that they both fell head over heels for. The wallpaper now adorns the walls in Jasmina’s studio where the girls often work together on various projects, creative sessions, and photo shoots. The charming floral wallpaper feels like it was made for both of them and really captures the feeling of decorating more from the heart and the trend towards bright and pastel colours.
What items in your homes have a given place in the years to come?
We both have a fondness of old cabinets and won’t be giving up on these any time soon. It’s a piece of furniture that can be varied endlessly! An old cabinet works just as great in a kitchen as a linen closet in the bedroom.
Where do you find inspiration for your home?
Life in general gives an endless inspiration, just as beautiful places do. We are incredibly inspired by other people - and there is so much inspiration to delve into on social media.
If you had one extra weekday to do whatever you liked (except from working!), how would you spend it?
We would have loved to have double the Fridays. That would be an extra day of cosyness with good food plus loved ones. It would have been perfect!
